After Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw mostly likely exhausted the local Walgreen's supply of Pepto Bismol this past week, South Bend Washington standout Skylar Diggins finally gave McGraw the remedy she needed tonight. She told the long-time Irish coach that she will suit up in the blue and gold in 2009-10.

After whittling down her list to Notre Dame, Stanford and Penn State, Diggins made it official with a visit to the locker room after Notre Dame's dominating 96-61win over Evansville at the Joyce Center tonight. She will become the fourth Hoosier on the Irish roster next fall, joining Melissa Lechlitner (South Bend St. Joseph's), Ashley Barlow (Pike) and Becca Bruszewski (Wheeler), all three who started and scored in double digits tonight for the Irish. Diggins will add some spice to that home state flavor of the Irish roster next season, and should be a great draw for local women's basketball fans for the next four years.

Ranked as the No. 3 recruit in the nation and the highest-ever ranked point guard in the history of the ESPN HoopGurlz Hundred, Diggins can now concentrate on her final season of high school ball with this decision behind her. As stated to WSBT-TV, Diggins' decision came to her at her last home game at South Bend Washington.

"When we played the other night, I looked over and saw my family in the stands," Diggins said. "I was like 'Aw yeah, I love this feeling.' I couldn't go anywhere else but here."
