IHSAA Tournament update
Region Roundball Review

02/19/08 09:47 pm by RRR | Back

Press release from the IHSAA today. Please make note of the schedule changes for the semi-state games.

TRIP TO CONSECO FIELDHOUSE ON THE LINE IN GIRLS BASKETBALL SATURDAY

The Sweet 16 will be whittled down to the eight state finalist teams this Saturday as the 33rd Annual IHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament rolls on to the semi-state round. Each of the four sites will host a doubleheader with the first game set for 1 pm ET / 12 pm CT.

Two-time defending Class 2A champion Heritage Christian and 4A's South Bend Washington both survived regional action and hope to take the last step this Saturday to get back to Conseco Fieldhouse.

Half of this year's field of 16 has never played in the state finals, including Fort Wayne South Side (4A), Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (3A), Southern Wells (A) and University (A), each of which won its school's first regional crown on Saturday night.

Both Vincennes Lincoln (3A) and Carmel (4A) ended long regional title droughts. Lincoln won its first regional in 27 years, while Carmel won its first since 1995, its state runner-up season.

Scores from each game will be posted to the IHSAA website as they become available on Saturday.

Please note the order of games at each site has changed from when they were first posted to ihsaa.org on Sunday morning. The updated order is listed below. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
